Collin D. Dickey focuses his practice at the Rutkowski Law Firm on Estate Planning, Elder Law, and Probate & Trust Administration.
Collin brings his experience in financial advising to the firm, which includes counseling clients on prospective investment decisions and taxation matters. Collin is also well versed in handling legal inquiries involving the IRS and the State of Michigan. With his extensive financial knowledge, Collin handles the Estate Planning initial funding steps for all Rutkowski Law Firm clients and ensures that client assets are properly handled throughout the process.
Collin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia and obtained his Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
Collin has worked as a Judicial Law Clerk in the 6th Circuit Court of Oakland County, where he gained exposure to a wide variety of family law issues. In this position, Collin reviewed personal protection orders, conducted legal research, and reviewed judgments for the Court.
Along with his colleagues at the firm, Collin can be seen at various speaking events throughout Metro Detroit, where Collin educates the public on Estate Planning tools. Collin’s speaking engagements include discussions at Assisted Living Facilities, the firm’s Lunch & Learns, and various Chamber of Commerce and Networking events. He also speaks to Seniors, on behalf of the State Bar of Michigan, about how to prevent “Trust Mill Scams.”
Collin believes in superior client service and takes pride in developing lasting advisory relationships with his clients. Outside of his legal work, Collin is a member of the Rochester Chamber and President of his BNI Chapter. Collin is an avid golfer and skier, with a passion for world travel. He has recently started playing ice hockey and loves to hunt and fish. Collin is married, and he and his wife have a brand-new boxer puppy named Hampden.
