Collin D. Dickey focuses his practice at the Rutkowski Law Firm in the areas of Estate Planning, Elder Law, and Probate & Trust Administration.
Most of Collin’s day-to-day operations are dedicated to representing individuals in their Estate Planning needs. He routinely assists clients with Wills, Trust Planning, and Power of Attorney Documents. Collin has experience working with clients from a wide range of backgrounds and uses his knowledge to advise them on appropriate planning tools for their specific circumstances.
Collin holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics from Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia and obtained his Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
Collin has worked as a Judicial Law Clerk in the 6th Circuit Court of Oakland County, where he gained exposure to a wide variety of family law issues. Collin reviewed personal protection orders, conducted legal research, and reviewed judgments for the Court.
Along with his colleagues at the firm, Collin can now be seen at various speaking events throughout Metro Detroit, where he educates the public on Estate Planning tools. Collin’s speaking engagements include discussions at Assisted Living Facilities, the firm’s Lunch & Learns, and various Chamber of Commerce and Networking events. He also speaks to Seniors, on behalf of the State Bar of Michigan, about how to prevent “Trust Mill Scams.”
Collin believes in superior client service and takes pride in developing lasting advisory relationships with his clients. Outside of his legal work, Collin is a member of the Rochester Chamber and President of his Business Network International (BNI) Chapter. He is an avid golfer and skier, and has a passion for world travel. He also plays ice hockey and loves to hunt and fish. Collin is married, and he and his wife have a boxer puppy named Hampden and are expecting their first child in June 2018.
